Reimagine Research
Health Research Alliance (HRA) and the Public Library of Science (PLOS) sponsored a symposium on “Reimagine Biomedical Research for a Healthier Future Symposium” on September 23. The symposium speakers were the winners of the HRA and PLOS essay contest “Reimagine Biomedical Research for a Healthier Future Symposium.” Essayists were invited to submit a 1,000 word essay on their vision for creating a more equitable, sustainable and effective biomedical research community.
The two winning essays were published as perspectives in PLOS Biology and PLOS Medicine:
- “Empowering grassroots innovation to accelerate biomedical research” (PLOS Biology) by Bastian Greshake Tzovaras, Michael Rera, Edwin H. Wintermute, Katharina Kloppenborg, Juliette Ferry-Danini, Guy Aidelberg, Rachel Aronoff, Ariel Lindner, and Dusan Misevic
- “An open science pathway for drug marketing authorization – Registered drug approval” (PLOS Medicine) by Florian Naudet, Maximilian Siebert, Rémy Boussageon, Ioana A. Cristea, and Erick H. Turner
Congratulations to all who submitted an essay to describe their vision of how to improve the biomedical research enterprise.
